While Muslims were celebrating Eid al-Adha on that day the people of Sulu Archipelago gathered – under the watchful guns of Philipino marines – at Plaza Tulay in the capital city of Jolo (pronounced “holo”) to announce that the future of Sulu Sultanate is not with the Republic of Philippines. It was a peaceful gathering, after performing collective Zuhr prayer the Attorney Mr. Meltino Jaujan Sibulan read the Declaration of Independence of SULTANATE OF SULU DARUL ISLAM on behalf of the interim government led by Datu Albi Ahmad Julkarnain.
Unfortunately no support, political or material, came from Muslim countries, even the neighbor countries like Malaysia and Indonesia completely ignored the great event. This clearly illustrates how fractured, impoverished and paralyzed with fear the Muslim Ummah is today.
According to tele-conversation between Muamalah Council and Sulu interim government on the 23rd November, the non-violent demonstrations in Sulu continued every day demanding Filipino government to withdraw their military and otherwise presence from the country; at the same time the new government of the independent Sulu is being formed. The matter of the enthronement of the sultan is more complicated, it has been decided to give more time to the people of Sulu to choose among a few royal candidates the one who deserves to be the Amir al-Muminun of the free Sultanate of Sulu Darul Islam. It is expected within 2 months from now the viable government under supreme monarch will begin to govern the Sultanate. Among the first policies to be implemented by the Sultanate will be the minting of sovereign bi-metallic currency - Gold Dinar and Silver Dirham. The Sulu Sultanate will not start its independence story from begging loans from IMF, Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan; on contrary, it will seek freedom from ‘help’ of Western Plutocracy and especially from Western Democracy.
However, any form of charitable contribution, donations or services, is welcomed in this utterly impoverished by the Filipino regime nation.
