Shaykh with the Gold Dinar

Assalamualaikum,

The Muamalah Council is an initiative of a group of individuals dedicated to restore the muamalat of our Deen according the practice of the People of Madinah at the time of Rasulullah, salallahu alayhi wa salaam. This initiative is inspired by the work and the teaching of Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir As-Sufi, one of the greatest da'is of our time and the author of the influencial book "Root Islamic Education" (amongst others) in which he laid down the foundations for the restoration of the 'Amal of Ahl al-Madinah.

His teachings had been followed by his khalifah Sidi Umar Pasha Ibrahim  Vadillo, with the current minting of the gold Dinar and silver Dirham. We perceive the return of the Shariah currency as the first step towards the political unity of the Muslim Nation. This particular work of restoration of the Islamic Money had been carried out since 1989 and in particular 1992 the first Dinar and Dirham were minted in the city of Granada (Spain), five hundred years exactly after the Muslims lost their last stronghold in Al-Andalus, thus marking the beginning of new Islamic Revival.  Ever since that time Sidi Umar Pasha had single handedly forged this matter forward by also setting up the framework and standards through creation of World Islamic Mint (WIM) and World Islamic Trade Organisation (WITO).

The Muamalah Council will uphold all these standards and also uphold the other components of muamalah according to fiqh and muamalah of the people of Madinah. The introduction of the dinar and dirham will eventually bring forth all the other components of Islamic trade, namely, the Suqs (markets), the Kafilas (caravans), the Asnaf (guilds), the proper contractual forms of Shirkat and Qirad. The council will also publish articles, books, journals, organize forums and seminars to serve these purposes.

Islamic Dinar

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Maryam reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: "A time is certainly coming over mankind in which there will be nothing [left] which will be of use save a dinar and a dirham." (The Musnad of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal)
