25  years ago, when the Muslim world was virtually convinced that the reality was based upon La Hawla Wa La Quwatta Illa Capitalism and was passionately implementing all capitalist institutions, a young man from Spain came out and declared to the world:  “This whole system is insane, this is kufr, this has to go!  People said:  “Calm down, young man, this is the order of the day and there is nothing we can do about it”.  The young man replied: “I will do and I will do now because I believe in La Hawla Wa La Quwwata Illa Billah”.  People said: “We also believe in it”.  The young man answered: “But I believe in it not 50%, not even 99.9% but 100%!”

In 1991 the young man produced Fatwa on Paper money, the first proper Islamic critique in the last 100 years on the modern monetary system, in which he declared that paper money was Riba and Zakat could not be paid with it.  The following year, 1992, in the Spanish city of Granada, he mints Gold Dinar coins in accordance with the standard of Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, first of the kind since the demise of the Ottoman Caliphate.   There follows a tremendous journey: he writes prolifically in the best tradition of Islamic Fiqh on the subject of Muamalat and its application in modern age, he lectures extensively around the world - his books, articles and speeches have become neo-classic point of reference in the field of Islamic economy.  At the same time he puts into practice his knowledge: he founds World Islamic Trade Organization (WITO), World Islamic Mint (WIM) and online gold payment system “E-DINAR” thus making Halal money and trade possible again.

Today his towering scholarship is recognized all over the world, from Russia to Indonesia, from Mexico to Nigeria; the torch of his spirit has lit up hearts of countless number of Muslims around the world with love and pride for their Deen impelling them rise up and say “NO” to the man’s religion of Capitalism and “YES” to the Creator’s Deen of Islam
